ABOUT ME
Hi my name is Diogo and I'm a Sound Designer
I'm a sound designer with a passion for bringing immersive audio experiences to life. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work on some exciting projects across different mediums, including video games and interactive experiences. Recently, I had the chance to contribute to Baldur’s Gate 3, designing audio for its extensive cinematic scenes and creating impactful sounds for various characters and spells. I also worked on Team 17's Killer Frequency, where I crafted sounds that added tension to the thriller atmosphere. Beyond game audio, I’ve explored diverse audio projects, like crafting music for a haptic seat experience and embracing a mentorship role by sharing my knowledge with media students and guiding those interested in sound design careers.

Education
I graduated with a BSc in Music Technology from Coventry University in the UK, where my studies balanced theory with hands-on practice in several audio fields, helping me develop a versatile approach that I bring into my professional work today. In addition to my degree, I also hold a Level 4 Programming Technician qualification, which I acquired from 3 years of full-time Programming classes back at DR. Francisco Lopes High School in Portugal and an extra year in Computer Science at Coventry University where I decided that I wanted to shift into a more creative field within game development.
Strong Points
I believe that my creativity is one of my strengths, being able to visualize before designing and maybe make a double meaning out of a sound has taken me a long way as a sound designer. I've also acquired good critical thinking and logic from my years of programming, which it allows me to communicate very effectively with programmers and understand systems and code to a degree. Finally, organization, if something isn't as organized as I believe it should be, I'll create my own way of organizing my work on my side, a non-tracked task is the first step for everything to go wrong in a large scale project. :(
My Experience
With years of experience in sound design, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and with this a range of different software as well such as Project management programs like Jira and ADO, different Game Engines like Unreal Engine 4/5, GameMaker and Unity, Audio Middleware Software like Wwise and FMod and DAWs such as Reaper and Ableton Live. Due to previous projects, I've also acquired expertise on the latest generation PS5 and XSX DevKits.
What Fuels My Passion
Videogame Dev is something I've always had an incredible passion for and wanted to do since I put my hands on a Sega Dreamcast. Because of this, I am constantly working to improve my skills to become better and as useful as I can possibly be. The stories I can create with audio are endless and I want to make sure everyone can enjoy and see the creative vision I try to give. In short, I'm ambitious about what can I do. I've left my country to pursue my dream of working in video games and I'm absolutely not stopping now.
